Is it too late for my butternut squashes to ripen?

After covering my garden with leaves and refusing to flower all summer it has just decided to produce a few baby squashes.
But will they ever grow and ripen now? or is it too late?

I reckon it's probably too late, sorry. The squash plants will die as soon as there is a frost and the squashes should be harvested before that. Most parts of the country that will happen this month...

Baby butternuts are good to eat though cooked like courgettes - not much of a consolation, admittedly
