Something which looks like deadly nightshade in my garden, but with white flowers - what is it?

I've tried googling but still not sure. It's got white flowers, small green (so far) berries and the leaves are kinda spiky like tomato plants or deadly nightshade. It's just growing randomly out of the so-called lawn. Any ideas what it is?

Deadly nightshade has purple flowers though.

Right I'm glad you asked this. We have those leaves and I thought it was wild clematis/old man's beard/travellers joy. Then I saw some nightshade and cut it all back in a panic.

It has grown back but tbh had no flowers at all so still clueless

They both have v similar leaves.

I eman the nightshade was in another garden and I recognised it.

I don't know which we have or if they are related!

Is it bittersweet? The berries ripen to a deep red. Be rid as they are poisonous.

The usual variety is purple but some can be white too

We had this randomly growing in our garden - white flowers, v pretty looking. I showed it to my dad and proudly told him I thought it was some sort of ornamental tomato plant . Fortunately he recognised it as nightshade and told me to get rid before my DTs ate it...

Might be black nightshade that has small white flowers, leaves and berries toxic if eaten. If in doubt get rid of it.

Does sound like black nightshade. We have it in our woodland garden. It’s toxic in very high doses but you can actually cook and eat the berries )although I wouldn’t if you’re not an expert at plant iD

Could be bindweed. A photo would be helpful

Potato vine. Same family.

It’s got berries - bindweed doesn’t have berries

Same genus, Solanum. (Strawberries and peach are same family as each other, as are dandelions and artichokes, same genus is a much closer relationship).
