what fruit/veg can I sow/plant now?

apart from salad things that the slugs polish off as soon as they germinate

I've just sown some spring onions, pak choi, sweet fennel and swiss chard. I've a packet of carrot seeds called 'Nanco' that say sow in August for baby carrots for Christmas. I got them from Marshalls. If you look on their summer catalogue on the website they give ideas for things to put in now.
Oriental greens are all good to sow now.
