What can I plant now where I've just dug up peas and cabbages

Large allotment plot- what can I put in?

If I've dug up potatoes are there special rules for what I can plant next?

I don't feel knowledgable enough to have an allotment!

Neighbours seem to bring seedlings to plant out, but I don't have space at home to do that, so needs to be something I can chuck straight in the ground.

No answer I am afraid as we are brand new at this too, but really recommend this book. It goes through things month by month.

We had a tough time propagating seedlings with no window sills (regency flat) and a toddler!

You definitely shouldn't plant potatoes in the same plot, there's still time for lettuces, sew straight into the ground (I put a trench of compost in as our ground is still really lumpy).

Loads of stuff to sow now - beetroot, carrots, swedes, turnips, oriental veg (mizuna/mustard greens/komatsuna etc), lettuce & other salads, fennel etc etc.

If you don't have space at home but ground is a bit weedy/sluggy to sow direct you can always sow in trays at the allotment - maybe on a plank stood on bricks or whatever to keep it a bit out of slug reach. Does depend on you being down there often enough to water tho.

Thanks, put lettuce, turnip and swede in yesterday- just need to find where I've put the carrot seeds (excited).

Anymore suggestions- we are in SE so lovely warm weather, but hurtling towards autumn.

Well, I know it is very bad form to advertise one's own website on here . . . but you can ignore the seeds and just look at the list of what to sow . . . we have a summer sowing guide which goes through most of the seeds you can sow now through to the autumn (doesn't include things like xmas potatoes, overwintering onion sets etc as we only do seeds)
