I have 4 sets of lovely new potatoes and one set which has brown spots, are they diseased or still edible. I am wondering if I left them too long in the ground and they were growing skins as in main crop styly.

Any ideas?

Brown spots on the inside or the outside?
On the outside - perfectly normal. Eat
On the inside - cut them out - then eat. Also perfectly normal tho less desirable

Brown spots only on the outside, just look like scabs, but think if i peeled them there would be nothing underneath.

It probably is potato scab - pic here, its not really much of a problem.
