How expensive is an odd job gardener in Worcester area?

I've come to the conclusion I am a fair weather gardener... and the weather isn't going to get fair enough again until after both kids are in school

So, I'd be looking for an odd job type gardener to come in once a fortnight (?) and mow the lawn, weedkiller lawn/paths, trim back hedges... basically keep the place looking less like an abandoned overgrown wilderness and an embarrassment to the neighbourhood. Any ideas how much this is likely to cost? (i.e. am I insane to be even considering it on my budget ) I don't have a huge garden - back is just grass (well, will be when it's seeded, lol) and patio (about 30ft x 30ft very approximate), tiny front grass area and bushes, but we're also responsible for a communal bush bed which needs trimming back fairly regularly... Don't really want to get quotes in if I have no way of affording it, but have no clue what the going rate is.

Going on from there, can anyone recommend a suitable firm in Worcester?

Hi Georgina,
Can't help with your specific query but we recently had a (one-off)garden spring clean type thingy - 2 blokes all day, cutting hedges, hacking vines back, clearing beds, etc - the place looks so much better! Cost us £160 and worth every penny! This might give you some idea of what you may need to pay for regular tidy-ups.
I'm in Stourport, BTW.

Thanks sassy - guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get some quotes

I need a gardener that charges less than 15 an hour. Want either a spring clean with hedge cutting or once a month jobby. Could anyone put me in touch? Thanks!
