does anyone want to swap seeds with me?

hello, i have a few seeds, mostly veg/herbs but do have a few perennials too.

We moved to this house in the last 2 years and had our dd so, although the house is lovely, the garden could do with some plants, and we are a bit short of cash.

So i thought - does anyone have any seeds for perennials - or biannuals that they'd like to swap with me? If you didn't want to swap any of mine i'll gladly pay postage to take any of your unwanted/old seeds that you no longer want.

please help my garden bloom

Hey DBMT, please could I have some lupin, rudbeckia, pepper and PSB? Also only a little of each as I really don't have much space but can't resist!

I'll send you an email now and we can swap addresses!

By the way, does anyone else out there want any of my seeds?

Hi dontbitmytoes seeds are in the post!

Also, I thought you might be interested in this site I came accross Garden swap shop

I've never used it so can't vouch for how good it is but it looks like it might be a good way to make your garden bloom, and its free .

PistachioLemon · 08/04/2009 11:00

Oh and final bump from me too for others who would like some seeds (I don't mind if you don't have any to swap).

dontbitemytoes · 08/04/2009 18:22

PistachioLemon · 09/04/2009 16:41

No problem, glad you like them I hope they work out ok.

I should have planted yours yesterday but I didn't get round to it and now it's raining - grrr. So I'm being a domestic goddess instead and (trying) to make marmalade!

whistlejacket · 09/04/2009 21:44

Yes please I'd like to do seed swap! Got loads of border space to fill and not much money to fill it. Pistachio I'd like Aquilegia, Wallflower, Garlic Chives, Dill and Poppy. Dontbite would like Black Eyed Susan, Rudbeckia and Lupins.

I need to go and see what I've got now! Think it's mainly veg so if nothing interests you maybe I can send a SAE with some £?

whistlejacket · 09/04/2009 22:06

OK got:
Pumpkin - hundredweight
Mangetout - oregon giant
Runner bean - hestia dwarf
Carrot - nandor
Carrot - chantenay red
Parnsip - white gem
Rocket
Lettuce - organic cut and come again
Swiss chard
Radish - globe mixed
Onion (cocktail)
Pak Choi - joi choi

Just realised no flowers I'm afraid - planted them all!

PistachioLemon · 09/04/2009 22:17

Evening Whistlejacket, please could I have some mangetout, lettuce and pak choi?

Are there any of mine you'd like? There's plenty of everything except the sunflowers left.

pscc · 09/04/2009 22:18

I would love to plant some veg/herbs but have no idea how/where to start- can anyone recommend some easy things to start with (maybe some the kids could help/get involved with aswell), and if anyone has the seeds I would be very grateful.
Thanks

PistachioLemon · 09/04/2009 22:20

Whistlejacket - sorry, just read your message properly! No problem on the Aquilegia, Wallflower, Garlic Chives, Dill and Poppy. Drop me an email and I'll pop them in the post.

PistachioLemon · 09/04/2009 22:26

PSCC, herbs are pretty easy and you could do them with the kids. Sadly my sunflowers have gone or I'd have suggested them for the kids, but you can probably pick up a packet quite cheaply from the garden centre (or even the supermarket). Broad beans are also quite easy and crop quite quickly so the kids would keep interest in them.

pscc · 09/04/2009 22:32

PistachioLemon- brilliant! Thanks I will pick some of those up tommorrow, and is now the right time to plant them?

PistachioLemon · 10/04/2009 15:49

Hi there PSCC - you can plant them now or you can plant some now and some later to get successive crops. Just check the packets for instructions. Have fun!

odearyme · 10/04/2009 15:55

I would love some wall flowers, pak choi and kohl rabi if anyone has any. I've some of just about anything, but have some more unusual things like white borage, lemon cucumbers, purple french beans...

odearyme · 10/04/2009 15:59

Pistachio, I would swap some of your lobelia, basils, spearmint and teddybear sunflowers, what are you after swap wise?

I have the things I mentioned above, as well as some wildflower mix, black beauty courgettes, borlotti beans....

PistachioLemon · 10/04/2009 16:09

Oh, this is so exciting although I'm not sure where I'm going to put everything!

odearyme I can definitely oblige with the lobelia, basils and spearmint but I've no sunflowers left I'm afraid.

If it's ok, please can I have some white borage and purple french beans (and/or anything else unusual you think I might like)?

If you email me on [email protected] we can swap details.
