Can I use cut flower food on garden flowers/hanging basket?

Ive got about three of those sachet things you get with cut flowers kiucking around - can I use them in my hanging basket - would I just add the granules into the watering can? Stupid question alert sorry!!

I don't see why not. It's obviously not what it's meant for but I doubt it'll do any actual harm.
