When do you pick tomatoes?

We have lots of tomatoes, plum and cherry variety all of a good size, and the plant is still producing lots of flowers.

Do we let them ripen on the plant before picking?

Was told by a friend to let them ripen indoors..

Leave them be! Pick them when they look ripe.

Have you been pinching the tops out?

MrsOnTheMove · 17/07/2008 20:29

yes, I've been pinching the tops out.. I did intend on leaving them until some one said otherwise.

I thought tomatoes would be easy! thankfully all the other veg growing well. DD's keep wanting to pick them as they have been with salad, courgettes and strawberries.
