My garden borders a public footpath, the neighbours garden on the other side of the path is overgrown with brambles. I have a chain link fence and panel fencing that is about 6 inches inside the chain link. I get brambles overreaching ftom the garden across the footpath. The brambles create an arch going down my fence and over the top to the inside of my garden fence. How on earth can I get rid of brambles growing down my fence. I cut them back but they are rooting between the chain link and panel fencing. I'm reluctant to use weedkiller as cats use the path as do dog walkers. Is there an animal friendly weedkiller that kills brambles ?
