What size is your garden and what is already present in your garden?

Also depends on budget, soil type, orientation to the sun etc.

Depending on what they find important, you can go for flowers (pollinators and wildlife, including birds), fruit trees or easy vegetables.
Maybe some climbing frames that can still be used by teens or adults? (I mean an outdoor gym basically, for pull-ups etc.)
If they like football, or cartwheels, a lawn is more important. Nice place also for a swimming pool in summer. Use water also for your plants...
Mud kitchen/sand table could be nice for a few years.
Or a table for eating outside, also to be used as a place to do some colouring/crafts.
Nice cosy spot to read a book.
