We’re based in the South East and last had rain in mid-June and then it was only for a few hours. The shrubs are hanging in there but the perennials - most of which are only in their first year as it’s a new border - are all looking very much the worse for wear. The salvia, guara & penstemon seem to be particularly badly affected. (Well, I say that - I can’t see the ground cover geraniums ever recovering). I’m not sure whether to chop them all back now or whether it’s better to leave them as they are so that, if it does rain and they perk up, they will still have some leaf left.
