Foxes just made a mess of my garden pond...

I just ventured out in my garden after spending the afternoon inside as it was so hot to find that foxes had fun dragging water plants out of my small pond and leaving them all over the lawn. They also smashed a plant pot on the terrace and damaged the cactus that was inside.

I assume they wanted to drink from the pond and then had a good play.

Has anyone had similar problems with foxes messing with garden ponds (I don't keep fish in the pond but I assume they might look for frogs and insects)?

I think there might be cubs at this time of the year living in one of my neighbours overgrown garden so I fear this is not going to be the end of the destruction....

Not ponds, but our local foxes keep digging up one of the bareroot roses I planted this year. Bless its tenacity because I've now replanted it 5 times and it isn't dead yet!

The foxes are lucky they're cute...

A cemetery had trouble with vandals destroying teddies etc from childrens graves. CCTV showed it was foxes.

Yes if I put plants in my tiny pond they fish them out every time. I’ve given up fighting them!

I left some cushions out one night and found them with bites marks and stuffing coming out the following morning, so now I always remember to put them away!

I put all the plants back in the pond and replaced the pot with a plastic one. So far no more drastic damage. Although one my plastic pots has the imprint of fox teeth where one of the furry monsters bit into it.

This morning I am finding random cats lounging in my garden and being chased by my cat so more pots being disturbed...

I think you need to set up some cameras in your garden and livestream the footage - sounds hilarious 😆 (but v disruptive 😬)

My tiny pond is in the back garden, I don't think I get foxes at the back but the front garden is another matter.

I had three large half oak barrels for planters, I had to get rid of them in the end as the little loves kept digging holes in the compost and killing off the plants. It was an uphill job trying to keep the plants and dwarf trees safe so I got rid of everything. The barrels went to someone else so they weren't just taken to the tip.

I also found eggs buried in one large pot, oh and twice they pooed on my front door mat.
