I inherited a trio of silver birches and the dappled light on the papery bark in the evenings is so pretty this time of year.

Alliums always make me smile - they’re so improbable and whimsical, and the aubrieta is definitely the star of the rockery.

my ceanothus has been and gone

Honeysuckle on its way in. A rose with my name given to me when I left a job last year. Smells amazing.

My poppy, Patty's Plum, has seven heads on it, only one is about to open. I know they don't last that long but when they are out they are lovely.

My philadelphus has been swarming with bees for the last three or four days. It's pretty much only bumble bees but last night when refilling yet again, the bird bath, I counted 11 bumbles right in front of me. The whole shrub was alive with the sound of buzzing.

My alliums, lavender and the roses. All at peak blooming.

The peonies have dropped their petals so those have been deadheaded.

My Gertrude Jekyll rose is also looking amazing. Philadelphus snowbelle is just getting going and looking (and smelling) gorgeous too.

Roses mostly

I love alliums and so do the bumblebees! But the honeybees ignore them.

We also have a yellow rose bush which flowers profusely several times a year.

We've done ' no mow May' so the grass is long and meadowy with lots of wildflowers coming through. Looks beautiful. Also a huge foxglove has appeared. Gorgeous 😍

I have a small copse of 5 silver birches @JillThePlantKiller and they are looking glorious in the sunlight. They are my favourite trees and the birds love them.
The most stunning looking plant currently is a sage bush. It's quite small, right next to my greenhouse door and really needs moving to give it more space, but the flowers are the most beautiful purple and has lots of visits from the bees.
My peonies have opened and are looking good. They usually time their entrance with heavy rain, but they missed it by a week or so.

Just sat here reading about all your lovely gardens over a cup of tea.

@Greengreenfingers I missed that memo too! It’s such a joy.
