Geum Totally Tangerine- anyone seen them in the shops?

The ones in my local Range flew out the shop before I could get my hands on some.

Anyone seen them in the shops?
Hoping that some of the bigger supermarkets might have some.

I’ve seen very few perennials in my local supermarkets here in South London/North Surrey this year, but quite a few Geum TT left in the garden centres just a few days ago. That being said, the ones in my garden are mid-to-late flower now, so the garden centres might be about to move on now.

Maggiethecat · 15/05/2026 10:29

Hope I can find some @HollyHoly

Squires garden centre had loads last week

BuffaloCauliflower · 15/05/2026 15:08

I bought a lovely one a few weeks ago, put it in the ground and it’s immediately wilted/fallen. No idea what’s gone wrong but planning to prune all the flowers and hope it rejuvenates itself.

Featherlemon · 15/05/2026 23:49

ebay if you are stuck ☺️

Banoffeecoffee · 16/05/2026 08:50

I saw them in B&M last Sunday (Oldham for reference!). I noticed as they had been in a feature on Gardeners World a couple of days before so I was quite impressed!

parietal · 16/05/2026 09:13

I bought some a few years ago but they have never thrived. Sunny spot in a London garden so I dunno what is wrong

parietal · 16/05/2026 16:55

And I saw lots in Waitrose today

Was there yesterday, Edinburgh, and nothing 😔

I bought a Totally Tangerine today, I was chuffed to find it, I've also been on the hunt for one for a few weeks. Not very helpful to you unfortunately though as I'm in NI and it was in a local garden centre. Dobbies had a couple when I was there last week but they were a bit scraggly looking so I didn't buy.

Buffalo I would get a trowel and lift that, see if you can spot something like vine weevil grubs in the rootball or anything obvious like that. Just taking the flowers off won't help it in any way, there has to be a reason it's flopped and loss of the fine root hairs that take up water is one of the more likely reasons. Hope it recovers...

Well done @Vetoncall!

That looks very healthy, just like the ones I saw over a week ago.

They were huge and I was going to subdivide one

B&M. I bought some in the reduced section yesterday, large plants. £1.50 for a healthy one that had finished flowering but lots of leaves, and 10p each for two that had died back, probably due to lack of water. I’ve cut off all the old stems and given them a good water so hopefully they will come back.

menopausalmare · 16/05/2026 22:01

I bought one today from Squires garden centre. Is there a branch near you?

Tigerbalmshark · 16/05/2026 22:06

If it helps, Prinses Juliana is indistinguishable as far as I can tell, and Farmer Gracy have some of those left in stock.

I have only succeeded in growing 2/6 of them (bare roots) but that is likely on me for not planting them up quickly enough.

lechatdhenri · 16/05/2026 22:07

Lots in Waitrose here today too. They didn’t have them last week so might be worth another check

Tigerbalmshark · 16/05/2026 22:10

Sarah Raven and Crocus both have them in stock.

Bought 3 of these bare roots and they’re coming on but don’t think they’ll flower this year.

Have seen these, they’re a bit pricey so will have a think!

I tend to buy tiny plants cheaply online. Didn't get a single flower the first year but they are beautiful this year and were one of the first things to bloom.

Do not buy from Sarah Raven. They send plants you don’t ask for if they run out of stock without telling you. Their customer service is non existent, impossible to contact and they don’t answer if you do.

I ordered 3 expensive Mai Tai geums from them
last year which absolutely were not Mai Tai when they blossomed. They didn’t tell me they were alternatives. I sent pictures and tried everything. They didn’t even bother replying just ignored me.

Are they still behaving badly 😳

@Maggiethecat
Always worth looking at independent garden centres, I see you’re Edinburgh, have you been to The Plant Market at Dalgety Bay? they’ve a great selection, regularly have Geums in, als if you’re a bit further afield, Greenyards at Bannockburn
