How to care for this kind of rose?

This was in my garden when I moved in over 20 years ago. It has lots of small pink flowers in bunches almost like grapes.

I don’t know how, when or if I should prune it? When it flowers currently I have to stake it. It seems to be really big and bushy this year.

Be grateful for any advice.

Does it flower once, or all year?

If once-flowering, prune after flowering and then leave it be.

If it’s a repeater, deadhead as you go along then prune well in feb/march.

It looks v healthy 🙂

@LittleLapwing it flowers once I think. I’ve kind of ignored it. I think I need to take an inventory of my plants.

When it flowers, maybe post a photo of the flowers close-up and someone might be able to identify the variety.
