Tall, slender plants for clay soil to grow between roses?

Are there any ? Or if not, something else quite tall and slender that I can plant between roses ?

Definitely verbena bonariensis - lovely plant and cuttings work well
Have you thought of gaura?

Just been to look at guara, very pretty. Do you know if wild rabbits eat it?

My rabbit eat a lot, including alliums and baby lavender, but the gaura survived. I’m not promising anything though!!
