What are your Victoria plum trees looking like?

My 2 year old tree fruited hugely last year to the extent we had to pick loads off to save the branches. I’m not sure we’ve got fruit buds this year just the pointy ones.

That happened to my pear tree a few years ago. We lost all the flowers to the frost one year and then had a bumper year the next year. I think it evens out.

Oddly the frogs did it last year too. The previous year we had no spawn and then last year we had 17 clumps of spawn in our small pond.

Times of plenty followed by times of lean.

Its normal.

Just feed the tree regularly to make sure it has everything needed for good strong growth.

Our Victoria Plum tree is very very fussy. Some years it produces loads of fruit others we are lucky to get a couple of kilos. Last year was a really lean year for us, I am really hopeful for this year!

Last year was a “mast” year when all types fruit trees produced good crops.
it happens every now and then but I done know what triggers it.
