Am in the process of renovating my house and have an extension with a flat roof that I specified needed to be able to support a living roof and beehive..Builder have done a good c job with the structure and if has good wide gutters.
Would appreciate any tips/experiences.
Roof faces north and eats and is quite small -about 12m/s.

Not sure if you have been beekeeping for very long but i seriously considered putting a beehive on a roof and it is really not a great idea. Supers full of honey are extremely heavy so you would need to be able to walk down a staircase to get them off of the roof and you dont want to be doing this bit through the house or you will end up with a house full of grumpy bees.

Also it would be really dangerous to do a complex manipulation like a shook swarm on a roof without railings because you have reduced visability in a beesuit and are then surounded by cross bees wirh no where to go.

Also worth knowing that many beekeepers develop bee sting allergy and you dont want tk be messing around takkng time getting off a roof if that happens.
