Hi all
We are currently planning a garden makeover and part of our plans include planting some Japanese privet trees along our side fence for some privacy screening.
We are concerned however that the roots may damage foundations etc. I read online that they have a shallow root system but to plant them at least six feet away from buildings - unfortunately we do not have that space. It is the pavement on the other side of the fence so that’s a concern too.
Is that space really needed?
Thank you in advance for any advice!
