I've used small shoe racks in the past

Following as I’d also like some. At the moment I have two ikea shelves (https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/olivblad-plant-stand-in-outdoor-black-10486647/) on my deep window sill. The shoe racks are a good idea, but some seedlings grown tall very quickly and wouldn’t have enough headroom on the lower levels. It depends what you grow and how long before planting out.

Think that would be too deep for my sills. I’ve seen acrylic shelves you can stick your windows with suction caps but scared they’d fall off.

Seedlings on windowsills are a bad idea because the ledge gets really cold at night and keel over and die.

I have no other option and mine never keel over and die even though we have no heating on at night. I use them for germination. Most seed packets seem to suggest a sunny windowsill.

I use a small shoe rack too.

Ooh I could do with this too op.

My bay windowsill is perfect for narrow windowsill seedling trays, they seem to come on nicely there but I too could do with more space.

I've been sowing seeds in my north facing window on the sill for years,at the moment I have tomatoes, peppers, cornflowers, for 14 years, none have keeled over and died..I don't stack, because you need to turn the pots daily towards the light..I use quarter size seed trays.

2 non heated ones and 4 heated. Had them for years and still working well. You can get cheaper versions which are equally as good tbh I have some I bought last year for about £15 but don’t look so good and these trays are in my conservatory the cheaper less attractive ones are in my bedroom.

Grumpy nan, that's the size I use. I don't use the drip tray, there's a storage thing for scourers, washing up liquid, tin with daily,I have little plastic trays underneath,as soon as the seeds have germinated, I remove the lids. I tried a heated propagator, first it was difficult to find somewhere to plug it in... kitchen is tiny and open plan at the end of the living room, and I found plants died quickly
