What tomatoes do you grow?

I grew several varieties last year, including some heritage varieties, but wasn't really blown away by any of them. One of them was good, but the slugs just destroyed before they got close to ripening.

Any recommendations of your favourites very welcome!

Last year I grew all these

Costoluto Fiorentino - nice big flavourful beefeater tomatoes
Various Sungold - the best were the Chocola ones
Rio Grande
Buffalosun F1 - the best beefeaters imo and will grow again this year

I used to grow whatever was given to me, but now I grow what I can't buy from the supermarket

I grew Money Maker the past two years , I'm not a fan of cherry tomatoes .
They were delicious , warm from the vine . Not too many seeds (my nemesis)

Roma is a cooking tomato that needs more heat than is easy in the UK

If growing at home I would always say to look out for the thin skin long harvest varieties
because then you can pick one or two a day straight into your meal

I also suggest growing them up strings in any polytunnel or greenhouse
because then pruning and picking are easier

with the unpredictable weather I do not plan to start seed until the very end of Feb and rely on longer days to bring stuff along quickly
