A friend has downsized and gifted me with a large urn type pot. It has some French name I think. It is very striking and she suggested i choose a hanging plant would look nice. I am a complete novice. So am looking for recommendations for a plant or plants that is a creeper (if that is the right word) I want it to grown down. Is very easy to maintain. Can live outside all year round, and produces flowers for as much of the year as possible. The pot bit is quite big, say 1 metre diameter so I could have more than one type of creeper and even have a none climbing plant in the middle. Where I am putting it is sunny. We are in the SouthEast (Oxfordshire). Any advice on potential candidates would be much appreciated. Thank you.

It might help to think of ‘thriller, filler and spiller’ plants (spillers are the ones that cascade over the edges of the pot to soften the whole arrangement). If you google that phrase, you’ll find suggestions for the types of plant in each category and then you can start to narrow down by colour or flowering season etc.

Prostrate rosemary would be lovely.
