My spring garden was pretty and September revving up now. But I’ve hardly had any flowers in July and August. Any recommendations for pretty border flowers / perennials or anything from seed . Thanks I need to be planning now I think!

Roses? Floribunda roses are repeat flowering and if you dead-head them they carry on for ages. I've known one of mine to still be going at Christmas!

Mine is full of various dahlias. They've been really amazing this year.

Cosmos have done well this summer, as long as they are regularly dead headed, also with no maintenance Gaura lindheimeri 'Whirling Butterfly, which is lovely

Annual Asters are amazing this year, bloom after bloom. The Cosmos and tobacco plants are still going strong.

I’ll also add echinops - cut them right back after first flowering and they’re flowering again now.
