I've never been able to look after indoor plants.
Early this year DM died who was a great gardener. In her living room were 2 plants that she loved caring for. I brought them home. Still don't know what they are called.
One was placed by the patio door for the light. It started dropping leafs ended up with 4 and I thought my fingers were not green again. Moved it 2 feet and this morning I counted 76 leafs. Only water once a month.
The other is a lot smaller it looks very healthy. Only water on a Sunday.
She had a few cacti and they seem ok they are on the kitchen windowsill.
Water every other Sunday.
Might be able to keep a plant alive for once.

If you add some pics then people might be able to help identify them? Sounds like you are doing a good job so far though.

That's lovely OP 🙂 Your mum would be so glad. I'm sorry she died, I hope you're okay.
If you take a photo of a plant and put it through google lens, it will let you know what it is and how to care for it.
I have a lot of plants in the house, all of which I love but some which are very special to me. I found that I was tending to overwater, thinking I was doing the right thing, and some were getting too much light.
