looks like a paddy field out there.
is this the end for my sprouting round carrots? can my lettuce survive? will it stunt my courgettes and beans?
bolloxing F*ing rain. there's either not enough or too much. why never just enough?

have you got proper beds with planted stuff in? respect. early enough to replant if the worst has happened.

i have ramshackle affairs with window boxes and pots propped up to get some sun. i think my tomatoes have blight cannot decide whether to kill or wait.

I feel equally despondent - all the nigella (yes really) seedlings I'm growing for the school fete have drowned and the slugs are feasting on the peppers and aubergines.

I doubt that anything will be stunted - probably the opposite and we'll get lots of spindly growth from anything which survives. Deep gloom.

The earth is so cold. it's hard to believe it's only 3 weeks to Solstice!

I planted some seeds in a pot and hadn't checked drainage holes, sort of bowl really, and they were under 3 ins of water. I drained them and stood in rain rescuing as many as I could.

We're always late starting things off and I was comforting myself that it was too cold for things to come on, but wish we'd had loads in during that warm spell.

However, it was fine-ish at tea-time so I went to plot and planted some sweetcorn and put some lavender next to the greenhouse. At least I got some gardening in!
