Just found a box of unplanted daffodils and tulip bulbs

Just found a box of unplanted daffodils and tulips, also had begonias which I am soaking in water and seem to be perking up. The daffs and tulip bulbs are not going to be useable are they? They look dried out but not mouldy

You might get a few blooms in the spring but if they're dried out, it's probably not worth the effort. BTW I have absolutely done this, I'm awful at getting the buggers in the ground

Ooooh, I'd save them til October. Put them in the ground/planters then. Smile

I accidentally mastively overbought daffodil bulbs last year, planted about 50 in February and got a great display but still have lots so come September I'm going to stick them in the gaps of a border I created this summer. It's no loss if they don't work.

Ok, sounds like it's worth planting them up come September. Hmm should I water them now to rehydrate or keep them dry to September ? Thanks for the replies so far. My begonias have perked up and already gone green which is amazing
