Are these bees friends or foes?

Slightly tongue in cheek title as I love bees so of course they're friends.

BUT - some bees seem to have set up shop in my raised beds - they come in and out and aren't really an issue - if you get too close 5-6 will come out and have a buzz around but they don't seem aggressive ... I have a 6year old whose trampoline is near the point they come out and just wondered whether they are likely to cause issues or if they will pretty much love and let live?

That's a white tail bumble bee (called white butts in our house!) They will only sting if attacked. I often do weeding with 4 or 5 sitting on my shoulder!

Spent a while last weekend watching some of these lovely bees squeezing in and out of our foxglove flowers. They were not very interested in us and will not bother you if you don't bother them.

We also have leaf cutter bees that snip out bits of leaves off the trees and then sometimes realise they've cut them too big and can't manage to fly up over the garden wall with them, so drop them. Took us ages to work out where all the little bits of leaves were coming from.

Bees are wonderful!

Aah that's what I like to see, easy answers! We will happily share the garden with them then 😇

We also have leaf cutter bees judging vlby some of the plants but not sure where they're nesting - in our old garden they set up shop in a big house and I got to watch the new bees emergency from their blocked up bamboo - I was very proud of my "bee babies"!
