Anyone got signs of life on begonias yet?

I’ve overwintered two trailing begonia plants for 3 years with success - cut back October then put them in the greenhouse.

absolutely no sign of life yet this year on one, but the other has several green shoots. We’ve been having very warm days and a very mild winter here - my greenhouse has been 50c some days

am I being premature or has one of them rotted/died? Do I start ferreting about in the pot, or give it another few weeks?

they were dry and unwatered over winter to prevent rot where possible.

I did start ferreting 😁 and there's life in mine but the new shoots are not yet above soil level.

Marvellous @Dox9 - thank you for ferreting for the wider good. I shall leave well alone and have faith 🤞
