Monty Don always emphasises you keep them out of rain over winter, but I feel like they'd need a bit of water when blooming

Just to add that I leave my tulips out in the rain over winter but not sitting in a saucer of water

Stick your finger in the pot, dry to about an inch down means it needs watering.

I've been watering every couple of days whilst it's been dry.

You water plants when they need it.

SE UK,no rain for weeks, all my spring bulbs are in pots, clay soil in the beds. I haven't watered any.. the worst thing for them is too much water and they will rot.
