I’m really tempted by these, but does the water just go really rusty and need frequent changing ? Anyone got one ?

We have 2. Never change the water. Yes it looks rusty but that’s part of the beauty of them.

That’s really helpful, thank you. I love the look of them, but I just wondered whether the water stays clear or gets that orange / brown rusty colouration.

We have a shallow corten steel water bowl which got a rusty sediment in it, which was ok until the birds all decided that my tasteful water feature was now their personal bathing pool!
It was placed alongside pale paving and all the splashing was staring to stain the paving stones orange with the rust. Plus, I was a bit worried about the rust on their wings. So, we found a solution in owatrol oil spray which coats the bowl and no more rust or staining. The bowl is still rusty coloured but the spray has sealed it in. We respray it every couple of years, takes about 12 hours to dry. Really good option.

Ooh - thanks for this . I bought a corten steel bowl a couple of years ago but have never really got it going due to the rust / sediment.
I’ve just ordered some of that oil spray - with 25% off on the owatrol website
