Love Hellebore for winter interest but can't seem to find good ones in my local B & Q. Here can I get a good one online?

Parkers usually have a few varieties in different colours. I've found ebay good for plants in the past too. You find quite a few smaller growers/nurseries that don't want the bother of their own websites on there.

I always thought Ebay was to be avoided for plants. How do you know who is reliable?

For plants. Firstly, use sellers that are businesses - it tells you that on the listing. A nursery seller will generally have a wide range of plants and won't also be selling a whole pile of other gubbins. Also, look at the descriptions of the plants, ie, you should be able to tell if they have just lifted the details from a website or if they have their own knowledge.

Secondly, and generally for all ebay sellers, look at the reviews. Use sellers that have a lot of reviews, specifically for selling the relevant product - ie, plants in this case. I don't buy from sellers with less than, say 98% (there's always going to be someone who finds something to complain about). Read some of the reviews specifically the ones that focus on what you are buying.

You could always message the buyer and ask something specific about, say, the care of the plant, and see if they know their stuff.

Not fancy varieties but they're in Lidl next week for £4.
I shall probably buy a few...

Hayloft often have offers on Hellebores and I’ve found their plants to be good.

I’ve just had 3 good plants from Parkers, but you do have to check sizes carefully, they often sell tiny plants and expect some degree of skill from the purchaser.

Ebay can be good for plants. I've bought lots including hellebore and just read the reviews
