Gardeners eating grapes and taking fruit

We have a holiday home with some fruit trees. They are not super successful. The gardeners sometimes eat the fruit and maybe take some when we are away.

I do not care about this but DH is very affronted. He objects a lot.

what do you think? Heinous crime or not that big of a deal.

If it’s a holiday home in your garden then I agree with your DH. If it’s a separate property I’d probably consider fruit growing in the garden as something I could eat some of.

What does he want to happen to the fruit?

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/10/2024 23:37

What does he want done with the fruit?

If you don't live there, why does it matter? What does DH want to happen to the fruit?

Our gardeners can have as many bloody apples, tomatoes, plums, gooseberries, runner beans, as they want.

Hopefully, in France, our renters are using the surplus.

I cannot give the apples away fast enough.

Your DH needs a hard Paddington stare.

Yes, tell them they are not allowed to enjoy the literal fruits of their labour. Make them pile any produce up in a gently rotting heap on your doorstep. Enjoy the flies.
