Is it too late to plant a climbing rose?

Before I ask for advice, I should explain that I'm clueless about gardening, I struggle to move physically and I'll be supervising my teenage son who has even less of an idea than I do. I apologise if this is a stupid question.
We have a trellis at one side of the garden. I'd like to grow a climbing rose there but I'm not sure if it's too late. We'd be preparing the ground over the next week (getting rid of weeds and adding some soil) before planting.
If you could give any advice, I'd be sooo grateful. Many thanks in advance.

You can plant roses any time of the year but we are coming up to bare root season so you might wish to wait (generally they begin to ship in November but you can preorder now from places like David Austin). Much cheaper and they establish well like that.

Thank you! - I'll have a look. I love roses. We had a passionflower but son did some unsupervised weeding.
