Hydrangeas!

Hello all! I have a small border at the front of the garden which is approx 6ft in length and just over 1.5ft in width. I am strongly considering planting Hydrangeas there. For my lovely Hydrangeas who have experience with Hydrangeas which type were successful for you? I have been looking online and there are so many different types!
I have a south facing garden but this border is overshadowed further ahead by a huge hedge so it is in partial shade throughout the day.
This is the small area I would be planting them

It said everywhere to dig a hole at the depth of the pot. Never mentioned that it should be planted at the same depth where the soil in the pot comes up to I think that’s what they mean by “the depth of the pot”. 😀 I agree that, taken literally, it’s confusing.

🙈🙈
I will keep it in mind when I pot my other one into a bigger pot

There was another though I had, and that was it mentions not prune these until spring. But mine only came with two small flowers so have they already been pruned too early?

Make sure you water it - also during the next Spring in case the weather is dry, until it gets established.
I have just planted some hydrangea enziandom which should have strong blue flowers. I read that pine needles for a mulch help to make the soil acid to keep the blue colour - fortunately I have a large fir in the garden.

Should I add hydrangea feed to them? Especially the one I have just put into the ground.

Hello all,
To my fellow experts, the leaves on my plant have started to go brown and so is one of the hydrangea flowers. Is this normal? I really don't want to kill this plant
