Ivy problem

I have Ivy growing into my gutters from next door and my neighbour can't get to the roots as it's between his conservatory and my wall - fence in between us. I can just about get between the wall and fence - and he's happy for me to do what I can to get rid of the Ivy.

I want a spray that I can killer spray on the leaves as obviously we can't get to the roots.

What should I be looking for? Thanks any suggestions

I'm sure there's one that you just touch on a leaf and it kills be whole thing I'm not sure what it's called though.
I nearly bought some ivy for my side path that borders onto my neighbours house, but was told by a workman in the garden centre he was doing some work in a house and ivy was growing outside. It had somehow got into the house and was growing down the bedroom wall!

Cut it at the base where you can reach/access it. It’ll die off quite quickly and then you can get someone in to pull off the climbers/remove it from guttering.

Another vote for cutting each stem as close to the base as you can and leaving it to die off. I found that sprays didn't really work.

Neither of us can get to the base, that's why I need something to spray on the leaves

This is what I need, something to put on the leaves.

Ivy is astonishingly tough and you're likely to have to be persistent with any weedkiller. The shiny leaves resist weedkiller spray/gels too but Roundup is the best known brand. We have a similar problem but I just rip it off my house a couple of times a year as part of general gardening admin.

Cut it back as far as you can, and then spray the remaining leaves with Roundup. Do it on a still day when there is no wind at all, because you don't want the spray drifting onto your plants. It will kill them too. Since it is in a confined space, please wear long sleeves, a mask and eye protection. You don't want to cover yourself in it, or breathe it in. Afterwards, put all your clothes in the washing machine and go and have a shower.

They used to do Roundup in a gel which you could wipe onto the leaves, but I haven't seen it for a long time.

Ok great thanks for saying which to get. I'll make sure I'm covered up, I've got goggles and a mask I can wear.
