Pittosporum suddenly seems to be dying

I have to preface this by saying that I am not naturally green-fingered in anyway, so I'm hoping that the wise people of MN might be able to help.

We have, what was, a very happy pittosporum up until about two weeks ago, Suddenly all of the variegated leaves seem to be drying out and dying, however, the pure green leaves seem absolutely fine. I would have thought that if it had been the rain, it would have had problems long before now (but as I said, I am no expert by a long chalk).

Has anyone experienced this? Is it normal? Is there anything we can do to help it out? We've had it for years and has always been happy and healthy until now.

One thing you should do is prune out the green stems. They have more chlorophyll therefore will grow more strongly and in due course take over
