Coffee Grounds

Hi could not see that this had been mentioned before - but if it has please excuse me.
A friend recommended putting used coffee grounds around plants and it has been an excellent slug deterrent.
Apparently they also contain a load of nitrogen so also feed the soil.
Would not use for seeds though as caffeine can slow germination

We use them round our hostas and it has definitely lessened the slug damage this year, and they are looking pretty healthy too. I sometimes put some on my roses too.

I use sheep fleece. A small holding near me sells whole fleeces for a fiver and just one has done my whole garden. Apparently slugs don't like slithering over the rough surface of fleece 🤷‍♀️
