Just planted one in the border and trying to figure out what to place next to it. The border needs some uplifting and currently there is a very slow growing jasmine (the evergreen type with waxy leaves) that is not earning its keep.
Am planning to relocate a container grown camellia and wonder if next to the magnolia might work (full sun in the afternoon).
Grateful for any suggestions for a tree or shrub that might work!
