Yesterday it was a bumble bee nest, today it's.... oh please no!

I was in love with the wildlife in my garden yesterday, cute fluffy bees and all.

Today - well. We've been out all day, and when we got home, the cats were taking an unusual interest in something outside, but we paid little attention. Ten minutes ago I went out to water the pots in the garden, and found out what it is.

There's a mole making a mess of my lawn.

AAARGGHHHHH😫

Yay, free potting soil!

I'd just accept it. It'll move on eventually. You can either torment yourself trying trying all sorts of pointless things to discourage it,orget the big guns out and trap it. But that is utterly barbaric so don't do the latter.

Plenty of free potting soil down the field, there's moles down there. Thing is though, there is no access for a mole from there to here, not unless it had burrowed under a road, through several other gardens, and under assorted garages to get here.

My suspicions currently lie with one of my cats. He was a stray on the run for a while before we got him, and very wily. I reckon he's caught the dratted thing and brought his prey home alive.

You need a swivel stool & a shotgun. Look up 'Jasper Carrot moles' on YouTube for instructions.

That's a flashback.

Oh well, everybody makes mistakes.

I sent the kids out in the garden to do lots of jumping when we got a mole popping up. It certainly appeared to do the trick. They'll burrow their way out, don't worry.

Ugh. After a couple of weeks on holiday, DH and I have been out in the garden today. Yikes, what a mess this mole has made. Heaps of earth and tunnels everywhere, in the lawn and through gravel paths. It has dug through and lifted plants in the flower beds (including my lovely strawberries). It's even shifted half the stones in the rockery.

Cheesed off doesn't cover it.
