Help - Need to get rid of flies in the lawn!!!!!

Last Summer we moved into a new property - the developers landscaped the area and put down turf. It is only a small road (8 houses - and we do have a management company) but all the gardens are 'infested' with flies (look like common house flies) The children will no longer play in the garden! Is there anything we can spray onto the grass to get rid of them, some one suggested they may well just 'fly' away but will they have laid eggs that will infest us in the summer? Does our maintenance fee to the management company (private road) cover flies??? Any suggestions...please...

firstly cut the grass
then spray a gearal purpose insecticide on all the lawn-its safe for kiddies to play on it once the spray has dried
i doubt you maintenance fees will cover flies
my dh is a landfscape gardener
any problems justy post back hear ok xx
