What's eating my vegs (pics)? (gardening newbie)

This is my first house and garden.

I started 3 vegetable raised beds a couple of months ago and everything seems to be growing well but I noticed lately that some of the leaves are being eaten by something...

Any advice as to what garden pest this could be and how to try to deal with it?

I am growing things in organic soil and I have pets using the garden so would not want to use any products that would cause any harm.

Advice much appreciated!

Pics of my rhubarb and tomatoes attached. I am based on the Kent coast.

I know that there are snails around (I had to remove them from my mint leaves...).

Slugs. The second picture looks like cabbage rather than tomato.

Thank you! I could see a bit of slime as well (lovely...) so slugs makes sense.

Yes, cabbage not tomato.

And yes to slugs.

Yep, slugs.

If your soil is wet enough, I'd use nematodes... but you're also perfectly fine to (also) use slug pellets. The more dangerous metaldehyde has now been withdrawn, and what is now left (iron/ferric phosphate) is absolutely safe. It breaks down to iron and phosphate, which are both good for your plants and completely animal friendly.

Thank you everyone! I will look into the products you suggested :).
