I've heard of people growing spuds in piled up tyres, does it work? Also seen offers in the paper of planters (basically large pots), with seed potatoes ready to plant. I can't qute picture how they work, do you just harvest the whole pot's worth in one go (one plant?, two plants?) when its ready, don't really understand, and need MN help!
Sure this has been done before, but can't find anything...

lots of good advice

here
I have never grown them in containers - I have an allotment - but I have just planted a couple of containers up today, so we'll see!

Hi,
They are great in pots
Especially early ones, they taste so much better than shop bought new potatoes.
About harvesting - stick your arm in - have a good rummage and just pull out as many as you need for that day. That way the plant will go on to give you a harvest another day.
