What’s this growing from my Cordyine?!

I have a green Cordyline Australis that I’ve had for around 2 years. It’s grown massively - and I noticed the other day that in the middle it’s grown this very thick stem with these odd shoots growing on the sides, I’ve never had a Cordyline that has grown so big so quickly or produced anything like this! I’m pretty sure it’s a Cordyline, as that’s what was on it’s label. Is it flowering?

Yep, it's going to flower 🌼

Oh wow, that’s exciting! It’s a really thick stem as well, so heavy it’s leaning over! I really love this time of year, everything in the garden is starting to ‘wake up’ - hostas are making an appearance. I’m in two minds whether to unwrap my banana plants - I really want to but I think the temp might drop again, so I’m probably best to wait another two weeks.

Yes, it's a flower spike.

Definitely wait for the bananas. I'm going to trim my palms in a couple of weeks. I have one that flowers as well 😍
