I'm a novice. It worked out well with the bulbs this spring. The garden looks very pretty. Is there anything I can plant now to add more colour in the summer? Ideally smth that lasts through years.

For flowering in May/June: roses, bearded irises, peonies, nepeta, hardy geraniums, alliums, late tulips, geums

For flowering late summer to autumn: salvia, Japanese anemones, asters, rudbeckia, echinacea, agastache, agapanthus, hylotelephium, hemerocallis, persicaria, veronicastrum, dahlias, monarda, nerines

Long flowering: erysimum Bowles Mauve, erigeron karvinskianus, geranium Rozanne, repeat flowering roses, nepeta (cut back after first flush), dahlias, salvias

Annuals well worth growing: cosmos, nasturtiums, tagetes, ammi, dahlias (perennial really), cornflowers, scabious, californian poppies

Thank you so much @Turkeyhen I will check them all out.
I would not want smith particularly expensive.
Ideally hardy. Some field flowers are great. I will have a proper look into all the names

I love nastertiums. You can get a packet of seed and put them straight into the soil and they give a brilliant show of flowers through the summer. The leaves and flowers are edible too.

Linarias are cute and longlasting, plus they're easy to grow. https://www.prettywildseeds.co.uk/product/linaria-maroccana-northern-lights-seeds-1673 direct from seed. (Quite short at around 10" max.) Plus, snapdragons too. Sometimes they can self-sow year on year if you allow them to.

Get to a big garden centre. The perennials should be about 3 for £12 by now. All sorts of daisies, lupins, foxgloves, salvias are worth buying. Get them before the price goes up as they get bigger
