Planting dahlia tubers

Hello! Can anyone help me? I bought a whole load of dahlia tubers last weekend and planted them. Not all had shoots - have I gone too early? I’m wondering whether I should have woken them up or something? Can they grow if you plant them with no shoots? We are in London so reasonably warm. I guess frost is still possible though. Should I dig them up again? Thanks!!

Leave them they'll be fine. It is a smidge early but in London you should be ok.
In fact, I don't even lift mine in the winter and they come back every year, but I'm in a very sheltered walled garden.

Bit early but you should be OK in London. They will be showing by late April or May by which time frosts should be over but if there is a warning cover the shoots with fleece or newspaper. Remember that slugs and snails love the new shoots!

Thanks for your advice! They are in now - so fingers crossed.

Mine went in mid March. I leave them in year on year
