Suggestions for beginners gardening year round book

We moved in September before last. Our garden is very long, beautifully designed with loads of lovely plants, mostly shrubs, small ornamental trees and bulbs, so not too demanding. Through guesswork and hope we've just about kept it going since then through my pregnancy, birth and infancy of our second child, who has been a difficult and demanding, terrible sleeper. This spring and summer we hope we will now have a chance to really take ownership and give some energy to the garden. Does anyone have a suggestion for a gardening month by month bible? We are total novices.

I have had this since I bought my first property and was a complete newbie and I've never needed anything else. It covers everything from design to paving and obviously the seasonal gardening and planting. It's a compact book but does cover each season in three sections - early, mid and late spring for instance so it effectively a month by month book: https://www.amazon.co.uk/complete-guide-gardening-Peter-McHoy/dp/1843093642 There is a newer version I think published in 2016.

RHS have a good one called Gardening through the year. It's month by month.

Thank you. I have ordered both for less than £8 total. What bargains!

Also keep your eye out in charity shops. I’ve gotten great books there.
