Will lonicera purpurea (honeysuckle) be a nightmare?

Hi all, I planted a young hedge a few years ago (pyracantha) and have accidentally left a bigger gap between two of the plants than I should have.

My idea was to make a virtue of this by adding a honeysuckle in the hope that it will plug the gap and intertwine with the pyracantha adding scent.

I selected lonicera purpurea from my local garden centre but some websites say it's very badly invasive. As a compromise I could grow it in a planter but my husband is nervous it will spread when birds eat the berries.

What would you do?

I think it's invasive in the USA but seems to be fine here while vigorous it's not invasive. It make take over the hedge a bit but will probably be kept in control as you clip the hedge.

All the websites saying it’s invasive appear to be US ones.
