Can you please help me to identify which of these is a cherry tree and which is an apple tree?

I think the one on the right is the apple, as the bark is rough. Cherry bark is smooth, shiny and red by comparison.

Apple is one with the 2 post supports I believe

Thanks both, that was my thoughts too but the gardener thinks it's the other way round! 😬 not sure at all now whether they need swapping or not

The one on the right ( cherry) is too near the fence for either it’s good ,,or the stability of the fence.

Well for my money, the tree photographed against the grass is a cherry, the one against the fence is an apple. I have several of each. The slender straight mini branches on the cherry show to me it isn't an apple -apple twigs/branches are sturdier and not so straight ime - like the tree against the fence.

Apple on left against fence, cherry on right. Cherry bark has a reddish tinge, apple greyer. Obvious characteristic of cherry is little horizontal lines, and you can just about see them on the cherry (the lines on the apple are too thick)

That’s the one with grass in the background? Don’t think that’s a fence, that’s a tree support.
