Tall trees in pots needed for screening between ours and next door’s patio - what should I get?

We’ve just moved and our patio is very overlooked by next door’s and beyond. We can’t plant anything as it needs to be on the patio so whatever we get will have to stay in pots. A taller fence isn’t possible. Should I get bamboo plants? Can we keep conifers in pots or would they die? Thanks

Bamboo definately - they will happily be kept in pots and provide winter and summer privacy.
They have a bad reputation as invasive but in sturdy pots they will be fine. I have many on my patio and love their movement when it is windy as well.
Within their shadow you could plant more interesting shrubs in pots for colour.

A lattice planter? My mother's got two of them on her balcony and is growing ivy up the lattice, then other plants in front of them.

We have bay bushes (not the fancy shaped ones). They look and smell lovely
